From recipes to restaurants, we each have our own vision of the perfect meal at the perfect place.  I am originally from Louisiana and, after a decade out west, have recently relocated to New Orleans partly because of my love for history and culture, particularly with regard to food.  Still, some of my favorite meals were had in Pennsylvania, Texas, Mississippi, California and Montana.  Most of them were in restaurants that don’t take reservations, don’t have a dress code, and haven’t made the guidebooks.  Some were, most were not.  

My goal here is to provide a forum for discovery.  This is a place for me and you to get together.  This is our digital dinner table.  It may not provide the same immediacy, but it’s service is invaluable.  This is where we have the opportunity to share our secrets and our thoughts about the recipes and restaurants we love.  Have a favorite food related photo?  Send it.  Food related story?  Recipe out of an old cookbook? Planning road trips around mealtime? Restaurant suggestions, reviews? Send them on.

I’m putting together a collection of information.  At first this will act as a straight blog, and you will likely see a lot of info about southern food… particularly from the Gulf Coast.  That’s where I’m based along with a few friends who will be contributing, so don’t think we’re being one sided.  As more information comes in I’m hoping to be able to put this together in a way that will allow us to easily navigate the regions, recipes and restaurants we’ve discovered for ourselves.
